Last night at our High School Encounter Service, the students, leaders, and I am pretty sure many parents were in on it too, gave me a Nintendo Wii. Well, actually the gift card to be able to purchase a Nintendo Wii. I am so thankful for this nice gesture, and pumped about being able to play. I have been wanting one for quite a while. I truly do love the students that I am able to serve with and alongside side. Last night, our prayer was that 2009 would be a year that CrossRoads Student Ministry selflessly loves and serves one another like never before. Thanks to all the students for illustrating my point so well with their kindness.
Upcoming
Wayfarer Revival - The guys
from Wayfarer Ministries will be leading CrossRoads in a 3 day revival
January 11th - January 13th. They will be leading the service Sunday
morning, and then will be leading services Sunday - Tuesday evening at
6:00 p.m. Please make plans to attend and invite family and friends as
it will be an awesome time of worship.
Parents Prayer Night - All parents are invited to our monthly prayer night Monday, January 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the Adult Classroom. This is a time dedicated to praying for our ministry, our students, and the teenagers of our city.
Serve Night- All 6th - 12th grade students are invited to participate in our serve night on Wednesday, January 21st at 6:30 p.m. Please stay tuned for details on what our serve night activity for this month will be.
Middle School (6th - 8th)
Middle School Encounter will meet this week January 11th from 10:30 - Noon in the Youth Room. We are in a series called "Upsidedown Kingdom". We are talking about how the culture of God's kingdom often seems counter to the culture of the world we live in today. This Sunday we will be talking in our small groups about what Jesus calls Greatness - loving and serving others. Students will conclude their time in small groups.
High School (9th - 12th)
High School Encounter will NOT meet this week January 11th due to the Wayfarer Revival. (Please see above) I encourage you to strongly encourage your son or daughter to attend the revival at CrossRoads that evening. We will resume meeting January 18th.
Small Groups for High School meet periodically throughout the week in homes and at church. (Small groups are divided by grade and by gender) If you are interested in your student joining a small group, please contact Dustin Hughes
