Parents Prayer Night - All parents are invited to our monthly prayer night TONIGHT Monday, January 19th at 6:30 p.m. in the Adult Classroom. This is a time dedicated to praying for our ministry, our students, and the teenagers of our city. Please come and join us as we pray.
Winterjam - On Friday, February 13th, our student ministry (6th - 12th grade) will be going to Winterjam at the BiLo Center. Winterjam is a Christian music concert featuring Toby Mac, Hawk Nelson, and several other bands. The cost is $10.00 at the door. We will meet at CrossRoads at 4:15, and ride to the BiLo Center together. (The concert does not begin until 7:00 p.m. but it is first come first serve, so we are going to get there early to get in line.) We will return to the church by midnight. You can sign your student up at the information table in the youth wing, or by replying to this email.
Serve Night- All 6th - 12th grade students are invited to participate in our serve night on Wednesday, January 21st from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We will be staying at the church work on some projects in the children's ministry area.
Worship Night - All 6th - 12th grade students are invited to our worship night on Sunday, January 25th from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. David Walker will be leading worship, and we will meet in the main auditorium.
Middle School (6th - 8th)
Middle School Encounter will meet this week January 25th from 10:30 - Noon in the Youth Room. We are concluding our series called "Upsidedown Kingdom". We will be talking about how controversial Jesus, and the life He calls us to. Students will conclude their time in their small groups.
Middle School Girls Retreat - Walk the Talk Youth Ministries is putting on a weekend conference the last weekend in February called "In Search of a Princess" www.insearchofaprincess.org. This is a weekend conference specifically for teen girls. It will be a conference focusing on celebrating the value of true-esteem in Christ- finding true confidence, new hope, and joy as a child of the King. The dates of the retreat will be Saturday, February 28th - Sunday, March 1st. The conference will take place at "The Cove Billy Graham Conference Center" in Asheville, NC. You will meet at the church around Noon on that Saturday and return late that Sunday afternoon. The cost of the retreat is $158.00 per person. This cost includes accommodations, meals, gift box, and notebook. If you would like for your daughter to attend please sign up by emailing me or signing up at the information table located outside the youth room. The payment and completed registration form is due by Thursday, February 12th. If you have any questions at all, please let me know.
High School (9th - 12th)
This Sunday, January 25th is the monthly Worship Student Ministry Worship night. (Please see above for more information)
Super Bowl Party - On Sunday, February 1st, all High School students (9th - 12th) are invited to watch the first half of the Super Bowl in the youth room. We will have food and hang out and watch the game. We will meet from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Small Groups for High School meet periodically throughout the week in homes and at church. (Small groups are divided by grade and by gender) If you are interested in your student joining a small group, please contact Dustin Hughes
2009 CrossRoads Student Ministry Summer Camps/Mission Trips
Wayfarer Camp at Anderson University - Our entire student ministry (6th - 12th grade) will be participating in Wayfarer Ministries inaugural camp at Anderson University from June 19th, 2009 - June 22nd, 2009. We are so excited to be able participate in what we know will be an amazing camp experience with the guys from Wayfarer Ministries. This will be a camp that will offer dynamic speakers, fantastic worship, fun recreation experiences, as well as meaningful serve projects. Kingdom Culture - Our high school ministry (9th - 12th grade) will be taking part in Kingdom Culture again this summer. Kingdom Culture is a mission trip experience put on by CrossRoads Community Church in which we invite high school youth groups from around the city to unite in order to radically serve our city, Greenville, SC and to worship Jesus together. The dates for this year's Kingdom Culture will be July 14th, 2009 - July 18th, 2009. Further information including price, accommodations, etc. will be coming soon.
