I used have a love/hate relationship with reading. I loved the idea of having the knowledge that comes from books, but I hated sitting still and investing the time to reading. However, as I am getting older, I feel like I am developing an actual desire and interest to read. The other thing I have done is develop a new system. I now read 3 books at a time. No, not literally at the same time, but over the same period. I always have 3 books in the rotation I am reading. This gives me freedom to take breaks from a certain book in favor of one of the other two. So, what is currently in my 3 book rotation?
Black Like Me by John Howard Griffin - It is about a white author in the 50's who changed in skin pigmentation with medication to look like an African American and spent time in the deep south for a period of time. It is very interesting and though provoking.
Surprised by the Power of The Spirit by Jack Deere - A great book offering insight to the power of the Holy Spirit, and testimony and Biblical support of modern day miracles, signs, and wonders
Developing A Supernatural Lifestyle by Kris Vallotton - I love the way he writes, and he gives great instruction on a deep and seemingly complicated topic.
I am really enjoying all 3 books that are currently on my rotation, and would be happy to pass any of them along if anyone is interested.
